Ma Qiusha’s Work is now Participating in Sound Art Museum’s Exhibition

2026. 03. 28-2026. 05. 21

Ma Qiusha's work From No. 4 Pingyuanli to No. 4 Tianqiaobeili is currently on view at the group exhibition "The Unspoken Sound" at the Sound Art Museum. The exhibition "seeks to explore the rupture between 'speaking' and 'listening' in modern society—the essential problem of 'ineffective communication'—confronting the pain points of communication in modern society head-on. Ma Qiusha's From No.4 Pingyuanli to No.4 Tianqiaobeili traces her journey from No.4 Pingyuanli (the maternal and child health hospital where she was born) to No.4 Tianqiaobeili (where she grew up). With a razor blade in her mouth, she recounts her growth experience in a calm and restrained expression, until slowly removing the blade at the end, revealing the blood on her tongue. Because of the blade in her mouth, the act of speaking becomes not just linguistic but physical—the words are unclear, while the psychological trauma is visible to the naked eye."
