In contemporary Chinese art practice, Polit-Sheer-Form has emerged as a perceptive observer and critical examiner of social issues through its distinctive mode of collective authorship and its sustained inquiry into the relationships between the “I” and the “we,” the individual and the collective. Presented at Nanshan Society in Xi’an, the group’s new project Permeation continues its established logic and modes of collective action. By dismantling discarded everyday objects and introducing the permeation of a blue liquid medium, the project stages a reflective public dialogue on cycles of matter and the mutable flows within social systems.
