The Beijing Commune was established in 2004 and the first exhibition was opened in 2005. In 2006, the gallery moved to the current location of the 798 Art District in Beijing. Since its establishment, the Beijing Commune has been committed to interpreting and promoting the development of Chinese contemporary art.
